candidate Josh Hamilton will be sidelined for an undetermined period of time
with a bruised left ribcage.
Hamilton made a catch in centerfield near the wall in right-center and caught
his elbow between the ribs and the wall. He left the game with severe
discomfort.
Hamilton had a similar injury in 2009 and missed 13 games while on the
disabled list. Due to September's roster expansion, he will not need to be
placed on the DL this year.
